Wie rekonstruiert und baut man ein antikes Schiff?

Ein antikes Schiff zu rekonstruieren und nachzubauen stellt einen vor Herausforderungen. Wie sehen diese Herausforderungen aus? Um diese Frage dreht sich der Workshop „From archaeological finds to reconstruction: The challenges of reconstructing a Lusoria and the ‚Danuvina Alacris‘ in the framework of the EU Interreg DTP project ‚Living Danube Limes‘“ den Prof. Dr. Boris Dreyer, Professur für Alte Geschichte der FAU, veranstaltet. Veranstaltungssprache ist Englisch, es wird aber auch eine Simultanübersetzung ins Deutsche angeboten.

• 14.00 Uhr: Welcome and introduction: The EU Interreg Danube Transnational Programme Project “Living Danube Limes” and the construction of the Danuvina Alacris (Boris Dreyer, Universität Erlangen)
• 14.30 Uhr: “On the object-biography of a full-size boat replica from the early 1990ies, displayed in the Roemisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum Mainz, and its aftermath” (Ronald Bockius, RGZM Mainz)
• 15.15 Uhr: Diskussion
• 15.30 Uhr: On the status of the reconstruction of the “Danuvina Alacris” and the possibilities of participation (Boris Dreyer, Universität Erlangen)
• 16.15 Uhr: “Mast, Sail, Rope, Oar, Rudder. What Archaeological Artefacts can tell us about Equipment of Ships in Antiquity?” (Timm Weski, München)
• 17.00 Uhr Abschlussdiskussion/Ausblick
